Building a Toolbox
When it comes to integrating technology, I am a firm believer that our focus begins with learning and then, we add the tech. Technology should not be the first part of the equation. HOWEVER...when it comes to the tech, how are we able to use the best technology available to reach our learning objectives, if we do not have a handy toolbox, full of ideas? Building a technology toolbox is the key.
BUILDING A TOOLBOX: One of my favorite sites for educators and parents is COMMON SENSE. This site provides reviews of technology applications with an emphasis on ratings for learning and privacy. (Hey parents, It does the same for movies, books, and TV!) The site also provides an award-winning K–12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum.
